Murad Ibragimbekov was born in 1965 in Baku. He graduates at the Russian cinematography studios (VGIK) in 1989. He starts his career being a director of “Dunduklei” in 1987. In 1995 he produces some musical video-clip an publicity for MC Cann Erikson. His film “The man for the young woman” from 1997 has been shown in many international films festivals.
The film is based on the archive materials that were edited with the use of digital technologies and is made in a style of mute cinema. Soundtrack of the film is based on the national Azerbaijan music, mugam, erformed by one of the best singers Alim Gasymov. It’s Dolby Digital sound. Creators of the film – director Murad Ibragimbekov and producer Rauf Atamalibekov dedicated their work to their motherland – the country of Azerbaijan. Oil theme is closely connected with the history of our country. Oil is the blood of the Earth, joy and sorrow, peace and war, luck and trouble, life and death. |
