A short film, made by ‘Le Ragazze del porno’,  winners of a competition organized by Maremetraggio, will be screened in Milan, November 25th,  2014.  The video, shot this summer,  was produced  by the  42K Women Run 2014 and directed by Titta Cosetta Raccagni from Le Ragazze del porno.

The video is entitled  Ogni  legame è una libera scelta (Any Relationship is a Choice – T.N.) , was written and produced  by ‘Le Ragazze del porno’ , the group of cinema professionals, with the intention of raising funds for their project that involves the production of ten short films. The film challenges the image of female victim and instead presents its own vision of a strong-willed, determined and free woman. The rope symbolises  imposed and abusive relationship that is violent by design.

The video will be screened in Udine (Visionario), Pordenone (Cinemazero), Trieste (Ariston), Gorizia and Monfalcone (Kinemax) and also in Milano (Cinema Mexico) November, 25th , 2014. The screenings will be accompanied with flyers.

APPLICATION FOR THE 16th EDITION of ShorTS International Film Festival IS NOW OPEN

26536381_sLast year, Turkey and Belgium were both winners.  In 2015, the game is still open for play, here and now, as Maremetraggio has opened the registration for its renowned ShorTS – International Film Festival.

In 2015, ShorTS , the festival of short films held in Trieste, Italy, reaches its 16th Edition mark thanks to its unique winning formula of celebrating the “best of the best” in the world of shorts, as the Festival accepts only only those films that were awarded at least one prize by any other festival. But this year we have added one exciting twist to the formula – Last Chance section,  open for shorts that were previously out of the question, 10-minutes films not yet honoured by any award, the best ten of which, for all intents and purposes, would be treated the same as Maremetraggio Section movies.

A winner short, “the best of the best”, will receive the prize of 10.000 euros. Chiara Valenti Omero, the Artistic Director of the Festival, explains: “The prize is confirmed once again, in spite of economic crisis that hurts so badly Film Festivals, as well as every other part of Italian cultural sector, but it’s always worth it to show our appreciation of the young and talented  ”  .

ShorTS, that takes place in Trieste, Italy, from 5th to 11th of July,  will offer the carefully curated kaleidoscope of shorts from every corner of the Earth that will tell its stories through the images and in very short time indeed. There is many different stories to be told that oftentimes do not find the space on TV and movie theaters.

Please visit our updated Website – www.maremetraggio.com – and apply now!! It will be worth it, as it was always before.

It is clear that defect of being small could have some benefits

Here you have the new look of Maremetraggio 2014!

Or, better, of the International ShorTS Film Festival!

The great cinema starts with shorts films. And we are going to presents you, as we have done for 15 years, the best ones, the shorts we are sure will have a better perspective, in any sense. “Smalls” that would like to be “big”, and that they already are in a certain sense.

The playful look given by young men and women a little bit astonished in front of bigs “holy monsters” like Marilyn Monroe and Mel Gibson give sense to all.

A look that begins modest and shy, but with a different perspective, aware that they will may arrive at the same high level one day. And if it is true that their works are only the starting point, than their future way will be on the skids!

Maremetraggio is treaveling to Cannes

Maremetraggio is travelling to Cannes with Francesca Neri on board Costa Mediterranea. 4 days among VIPs, stars and the 20 best short films of the Maremetraggio International ShorTS Film Festival’s past editions.
