Its autumn. At the end of a branch hangs a red leaf. A little black bird comes along to water it. Suddenly a squirrel nicks the birds bright green watering can. The bird follows the cheeky thief: This is the start of an exciting chase through the forest. But behind the trees the fiery red fox is already waiting for his chance.

È l’ora di punta e una folla di frutti si accalca in metro a ritmo di musica. La metro si ferma all’improvviso e i frutti perdono il loro entusiasmo, si addormentano e sognano un mondo in cui crescono sugli alberi. Ma la metro riparte, catapultandoli di nuovo nella realtà.

It’s rush hour, and a fruit crowd throngs into the metro to the frantic rhythm of the music. The metro stops abruptly and the fruits gradually renounce their eagerness, falling asleep and dreaming of a world where they grow on trees. But then the metro restarts and they suddenly crash back to reality.

Aurora Borealis is a story about Emina, a 9 years old refugee from Bosnia who ends up in Tromsø together with her mother and little brother. Her main goal is to find her father who is missing in Bosnia, but after a meeting with Abdi, a 14 years old refugee from Somalia, she thinks she has become a drug addict! She sees things in the sky! Aurora Borealis is a charming and humorous story set in a politically difficult backdrop.

Una donna americana di mezza età scopre inaspettatamente le sue vere origini solo dopo la morte dei genitori. Profondamente scossa, e in preda ad una vera e propria crisi di identità, decide di mettersi in viaggio sperando di poter riabbracciare la madre naturale mai conosciuta. Si reca così in un piccolo e remoto paese dell’Italia del Sud, Montedoro. Al suo arrivo viene sorpresa da uno scenario apocalittico: il paese, adagiato su una maestosa collina, è completamente abbandonato e sembra non sia rimasto più nessuno.

A middle aged American woman unexpectedly discovers her true origins after her parents’ death. Deeply moved, mired in an identity crisis, she decides to travel with the hope of her biological mother, whom she never knew. She therefore goes to a small and remote place in the South of Italy, Montedoro. Upon her arrival she finds an apocalyptic scene: the village, perched on a majestic hill, is completely abandoned and nobody seems to live there anymore.

Attore, clown, archeologo e ricercatore universitario, Alberto Musacchio muore suicida nel 2001. La sua scomparsa lascia una ferita in tante persone che Alberto aveva sfiorato con la sua vitalità. Tra queste Stefano, 14 anni dopo, intraprende un viaggio per raccogliere le tracce emotive di questa esistenza che si è srotolata tra Roma, Mostar – dove insieme avevano organizzato laboratori teatrali per bambini e adolescenti traumatizzati dalla guerra – e il Canada, dove negli ultimi anni della sua vita Alberto insegnava e studiava. E dove ha lasciato scritto che fossero conservate le sue ceneri.

Actor, clown, archeologist and university researcher Alberto Musacchio took his own life in 2001. His death hurt many people who had been touched by his vitality. One of these was Stefano who, fourteen years later, goes on a journey looking for the emotional traces left by Alberto’s life and work. He visits Rome, Mostar – where together they had run theater workshops for children and youths traumatized by war – and Canada, where Alberto spent the last years of his life studying and teaching, and where he also requested in writing that his ashes should remain.

In the summer of their twelfth year, Matteo and Samuele spend their days between the river, the forest and the shopping centre. But, compared to previous years, something is changing. The game becomes boring, imagination gives way to discovery, adventure turns into life experience. A summer without beginning and without end, a story about a friendship, an age and a land which are obligated to change with the inexorable passage of time.

Antonia Pozzi writes poetry in secret. She does so, of course, not knowing that she is to become one of the most important Italian poets of the 20th century. She lives in 1930s Milan under a regime that is deaf to her. Antonia falls in love, writes, takes photographs and climbs mountains. These are the last ten years of her brief, intense life.
