Nina, 6 anni, sta giocando in spiaggia con il fratello maggiore, che però la abbandona per giocare con un altro ragazzo. Rimasta sola, Nina decide di lasciare la spiaggia e inizia a passeggiare tra le rocce. A quel punto la natura diventa specchio della sua meraviglia e della sua solitudine.

Six-year-old Nina is at the seaside, playing on the beach with her older brother. He soon abandons his sister to play with another boy. Left alone, Nina decides to leave the beach and strolls between the rocks. Nature then becomes the mirror of her enchantment and solitude.

Un trombettista è intrappolato in una banda militare in un sistema di autoritario controllo e paura. La sua natura gli impedisce di suonare la nota che gli è stata ordinata e viene punito di conseguenza. Durante le sue ripetute prigionie, mentre dà vita ad un avvincente dialogo musicale, riconosce in questo un potere creativo: è proprio al confino che trova la libertà di suonare la sua musica. Privato del suo strumento, il trombettista trova un’altra forma per esprimere se stesso: un’azione coraggiosa e disobbediente che provocherà un risveglio delle coscienze della truppa determinandone la conseguente liberazione.

A trumpet player is trapped in an army marching band in the epitome of authoritarian control and fear. His nature prevents him from playing the note he’s being told to play, and he is punished as a consequence. In his recurring arrest and, after engaging in a musical dialogue, he recognizes his creative power; it’s in his confinement where he finds freedom to play his own music. Once he is deprived of his instrument, he finds another expression: a brave and disobedient act that will provoke an awakening in the conscience of his platoon and result in his subsequent freedom.
