ORGANIZZAZIONE

ShorTS International Film Festival è organizzato dall’Associazione Maremetraggio ed è sovvenzionato da Enti Pubblici e Sponsor Privati.

DATA E DURATA

ShorTS International Film Festival si terrà a Trieste dal 28 giugno al 6 luglio 2019, per la durata di 9 (nove) giorni.

SEZIONI DEL FESTIVAL

Il Festival si suddivide in cinque sezioni:

  • Sezione Maremetraggio
  • Sezione Last Chance
  • Sezione Virtual Reality
  • Sezione Shorter Kids’n’Teens
  • Sezione Nuove Impronte 

 SEZIONE MAREMETRAGGIO

In questa sezione concorrono i cortometraggi che abbiano ottenuto un qualsiasi premio ad uno o più Festival a livello internazionale nel corso dell’anno 2018. Il cortometraggio inviato non dovrà superare i 20 minuti di durata (titoli inclusi) e dovrà essere stato prodotto dopo gennaio 2017.

La selezione dei film avviene a cura e a giudizio insindacabile della Direzione Artistica del Festival.

SEZIONE LAST CHANCE

In questa sezione possono partecipare i corti che non hanno vinto nessun premio, della durata massima di 10 minuti (titoli inclusi) prodotti dopo gennaio 2018 e di qualsiasi genere.

Un massimo di dieci corti selezionati entrerà di diritto nella Sezione Maremetraggio.

SEZIONE VIRTUAL REALITY

In questa sezione possono partecipare i cortometraggi VR della durata massima di 20 minuti.

I cortometraggi in Virtual Reality possono essere monoscopici o stereoscopici.

I formati ottimali sono i seguenti:

  • Stereoscopici: 3840×3840 30 fps h265 almeno a 20 Mbs con proiezione equirectangular Top/Bottom
  • Monoscopici: 3840×1920 30 fps h265 almeno a 15 Mbs con proiezione equirectangular

Tuttavia saranno accettati anche formati VR diversi purché con proiezione equirettangolare, che l’Organizzazione potrà liberamente ri-codificare per permettere la loro visione nel sistema di fruizione VR utilizzato per la manifestazione.

SEZIONE SHORTER KIDS’N’TEENS

In questa sezione possono partecipare cortometraggi di ogni genere dedicati ai ragazzi dai 6 ai 15 anni. I cortometraggi devono essere prodotti dopo gennaio 2018 e non superare i 15 minuti (titoli inclusi). Il premio del pubblico sarà assegnato da una giuria composta da 101 ragazzi.

SEZIONE NUOVE IMPRONTE

La sezione Nuove Impronte è dedicata ai talenti emergenti del cinema italiano del lungometraggio. Sette opere di giovani registi saranno selezionate su invito da Beatrice Fiorentino, critico cinematografico e curatrice della sezione. Si tratta di un modo per dare visibilità e fiducia ad un cinema nostrano nuovo e diverso, in forte crescita numerica ed estetica.

MATERIALE RICHIESTO PER L’ISCRIZIONE

Per iscrivere al Festival il proprio cortometraggio è necessario compilare la procedura on-line su una delle seguenti piattaforme:

I titolari delle opere dovranno compilare il modulo di iscrizione entro e non oltre il 28 febbraio 2019.

Verranno accettate anche le copie DVD dei film che si iscrivono al Festival. I DVD dei film non saranno restituiti, ma entreranno a far parte dell’archivio del Festival che potrà farne uso per eventuali proiezioni gratuite all’interno di scuole, circoli, ecc…

Per altri tipi di proiezione sarà cura del Festival richiedere, di volta in volta, l’autorizzazione scritta.

FILM SELEZIONATI

Gli autori dei film selezionati verranno contattati dalla segreteria organizzativa del Festival e dovranno inviare quanto prima i materiali che verranno richiesti al momento della comunicazione della selezione (foto, testi, lista dialoghi…). Il supporto per la proiezione delle opere selezionate dovrà pervenire al Festival entro e non oltre domenica 12 maggio 2019.

Importante: il supporto per la proiezione deve essere necessariamente in formato PAL. I supporti inviati in formato NTSC non verranno proiettati causa incompatibilità tecniche.

Le spese di spedizione delle copie per la proiezione sono a carico dei proponenti all’andata e a carico del Festival al ritorno.

PROIEZIONE DEI FILM IN CONCORSO

Il calendario e gli orari delle proiezioni sono a cura della Direzione Artistica del Festival.

PREMI

La Direzione del Festival nominerà una Giuria composta da esperti del settore cinematografico per l’assegnazione dei seguenti premi principali:

Sezione Maremetraggio

  • Premio al miglior cortometraggio (5.000€)
  • Premio Studio Universal al miglior corto italiano
  • Premio al miglior corto non distribuito
  • Premio Oltre il Muro al miglior corto italiano
  • Premio AMC al miglior montaggio
  • Premio al miglior cortometraggio votato dal pubblico

Sezione Virtual Reality

  • Premio al miglior corto Virtual Reality (2.000 €)
  • Premio Rai Cinema Channel

 Sezione Shorter Kids’n’Teens

  • Premio Shorter Kids al miglior cortometraggio
  • Premio Shorter Teens al miglior cortometraggio

Sezione Nuove Impronte

  • Premio al miglior film
  • Premio al miglior film votato dal pubblico
  • Premio AGICI alla miglior produzione
  • Premio SNCCI al miglior film
  • Premio ANAC alla miglior sceneggiatura

La direzione artistica del Festival è libera di aggiungere o modificare i premi sopra elencati e si riserva altresì il diritto di assegnare eventuali menzioni speciali.

N.B.: Il premio in denaro si intende al lordo della ritenuta a titolo di imposta del 25% ai sensi dell’art. 30, 2° comma DPR 600/73.

Il premio in denaro notificato e non ritirato dal vincitore non può essere esigibile allo scadere di un anno dalla comunicazione.

L’iscrizione al Festival è soggetta al pagamento di una tassa.

NORME GENERALI

Ciascun autore risponde del contenuto delle proprie opere. I partecipanti al concorso autorizzano il Festival ad utilizzare il loro nominativo e relativo indirizzo per tutti gli usi connessi alla manifestazione. Le informazioni della scheda di partecipazione saranno rese pubbliche sul catalogo della manifestazione e sul sito internet del Festival.

La partecipazione al concorso implica l’accettazione integrale del presente regolamento.

Il presente regolamento è redatto in italiano e inglese. In caso di problemi interpretativi, fa fede la versione italiana.[:en]ORGANISATION

ShorTS International Film Festival is organised by Associazione Maremetraggio and is sponsored by Public and Private Entities.

  1. DATES & DURATION

ShorTS International Film Festival is held in Trieste, Italy, from the 28th of June to the 6th of July 2019 and will last for 9 (nine) days.

 

  1. SECTIONS

The Festival is divided into five sections:

  • Maremetraggio Section
  • Last Chance Section
  • Virtual Reality Section
  • Shorter Kids’n’Teens Section
  • Nuove Impronte Section

 

  1. MAREMETRAGGIO SECTION

This section is reserved for short films that won one or more prizes in one or more international festivals during 2018. All submitted works must not exceed 20 minutes in terms of length (titles included) and must have been produced after June, 2017.

The films are selected at the incontestable discretion of the Artistic Direction of the Festival.

 

  1. LAST CHANCE SECTION

This section includes films that did not win any Award. Submitted films must not exceed 10 minutes (titles included) and must have been produced after January, 2018. All genres are eligible.

 

A maximum of ten selected films from this section will be included in the Maremetraggio Section of the Festival.

 

  1. VIRTUAL REALITY SECTION

Submitted films must not exceed 20 minutes.

Short films in Virtual Reality can be either monoscopic or stereoscopic.

The following formats are considered optimal:

  • Stereoscopic: 3840×3840 30 fps h265, at least 20 Mbs with an equirectangular projection of Top/Bottom
  • Monoscopic: 3840×1920 30 fps h265, at least 15 Mbs with an equirectangular projection

Nonetheless other VR formats will also be accepted, provided that they come with equirectangular projections within their formats, that the organization can freely re-code, for the organisation’s specific use of the VR during the event.

 

  1. SHORTER KIDS’N’TEENS SECTION

This section accepts every genre of short films dedicated to kids from ages 6 to 15 years old. All submitted works must not exceed 15 minutes in terms of length (titles included) and must have been produced after January, 2018. The Audience Award will be assigned by a jury of 101 children.

 

  1. NUOVE IMPRONTE SECTION

The Nuove Impronte Section is dedicated to the emerging talent of Italian Feature Films. Seven films by young directors will be selected via invitation by Beatrice Fiorentino, film critic and curator of the section. This is a way to expose and inspire confidence to new and diverse Italian films, becoming strong in number and aesthetical development.

 

  1. MATERIALS REQUIRED FOR THE APPLICATION

All interested in participation must use one of the following platforms:

Filmfreeway (https://filmfreeway.com/festival/ShorTSInternationalFilmFestival)

The participants must enroll their own film by the 28th of February 2019.

DVDs of films will also be accepted and they will be included in the Festival archive. There is a possibility that the work will be used for non-profit purposes (screenings in schools, cinema experts clubs, etc.).

For any other kind of usage, The Organisation will have to ask for permission.

  1. SELECTED FILMS

The authors of the selected films will be contacted by the Organisation and will be advised to send the materials requested at the moment of selection (photos, texts, dialogues lists…).

The screening copy of the selected shorts must be sent by the 12th of May 2019.

Important note: the screening copy must be in PAL format. The copies sent in NTSC format will not be screened due to technical incompatibilities.

The shipping costs are paid by the sender, and the Festival will cover the return costs.

 

  1. FILM SCREENING

The schedule and the programme of the screenings will be specified by the Artistic Direction of the Festival.

 

  1. PRIZES

The Artistic Direction will choose a Jury of experts that will award the following prizes:

Maremetraggio Section 

  • Best Short Film Award (€ 5.000)
  • Studio Universal Award for Best Italian Short Film
  • Best undistributed Short
  • Oltre il Muro Award for Best Short Italian Film
  • Best Italian Editing Short
  • People’s Choice Award for Best Short Film

Virtual Reality Section

  • Best Virtual Reality Short (€  2.000)
  • Rai Cinema Channel Award

Nuove Impronte Section

  • Best Film
  • People’s Choice Award for Best Film
  • Best Production
  • SNCCI Award for Best Film
  • Best Screenplay

Shorter Kids’n’Teens Section

  • Shorter Kids Award for Best Short
  • Shorter Teens Award for Best Short

 

The Artistic Direction of the Festival reserves the right to change the above-mentioned awards. The jury reserves the right to assign honorable mentions.

Please note that the € 5.000 prize is a subject to taxation according to the Italian law ( 25% – art. 30, 2° comma DPR 600/73).

The winner must  claim the prize for the  “Best Short Film Award” (€ 5.000) within one year of being notified.

The participation at the Festival implies the payment of a fee.

 

  1. GENERAL RULES

Each author is liable for the content of his or her works.

The participants authorize the Festival to use their name and address for all the purposes related to the event. The information in the Entry Form will be published in the catalogue of the Festival and on the Festival’s Website.

The participation in the Festival implies the full understanding of this regulation, and compliance with its terms.

This regulation is issued in both Italian and English. In case of problems or contradictions relating to the interpretation, the Italian version is deemed authentic.[:]
