Sinossi / Synopsis

14 febbraio 2004, Stadio Olimpico di Radès, Tunisia. L’intera nazione tifa per la vittoria di The Eagles of Carthage contro il Marocco, nella finale per la Coppa Africana. Dopo diverse sconfitte si trovano a un solo passo dalla gloria. Quindici anni dopo la partita, i tunisini sentono ancora le emozioni del giorno che profondamente toccò la storia del loro paese.

14 February 2004, Radès Olympic Stadium, Tunis. The whole nation stands behind The Eagles of Carthage in the Africa Cup Final against Morocco. After many defeats they are just one step away from glory. Fifteen years after the match, Tunisians still recall the emotion of a day that deeply affected the history of the country.

Adriano Valerio

Laureato in legge all’Università di Milano, Adriano Valerio vive e lavora a Parigi. È docente di Regia e Analisi del Film all’International Film School of Paris, all’Académie Libanaise des Beaux Arts di Beirut e all’Istituto Marangoni. Il suo cortometraggio 37°4 S ha vinto il David di Donatello, il Premio Speciale Nastro d’Argento e ricevuto una Menzione Speciale al Festival di Cannes. Il cortometraggio Mon amour mon ami è stato presentato alla Mostra del Cinema di Venezia (sezione Orizzonti) e al Toronto International Film Festival e ha vinto l’Amnesty Award (Parigi, 2018) e il premio Bridging the Borders (Palm Springs, 2018). Il suo primo lungometraggio Banat – il viaggio è stato presentato alla Settimana della Critica, al Festival di Venezia, nominato ai David di Donatello e ai Globi d’Oro come Miglior Opera Prima e ai Nastri d’Argento per il Miglior Soggetto Originale ed è stato selezionato in più di settanta festival internazionali, ricevendo diversi riconoscimenti tra cui il Premio Corso Salani. Ha diretto due episodi della serie tv Non uccidere 2, prodotta da Freemantle e RAI Fiction.

A graduate in law from the University of Milan, Adriano Valerio lives and works in Paris. He teaches film direction and analysis at the International Film School of Paris, the Académie Libanaise des Beaux Arts in Beirut and the Istituto Marangoni. His short 37°4 S won the David di Donatello and the Premio Speciale Nastro d’Argento and received a Special Mention at the Cannes Film Festival. The short Mon amour mon ami was screened at the Venice Film Festival (Orizzonti section) and the Toronto International Film Festival and won the Amnesty Award (Paris, 2018) and the Bridging the Borders Award (Palm Springs, 2018). His first feature film Banat – Il viaggio was presented at the Settimana della Critica, at the Venice Film Festival, nominated for David di Donatello and Globi d’Oro awards for Best First Work and Nastri d’Argento for Best Original Screenplay and was selected at more than seventy international festivals, receiving several awards including the Premio Corso Salani. He directed two episodes of the TV series Non uccidere 2, produced by Freemantle and RAI Fiction.
