Durante un allenamento allo Zetra Stadium di Sarajevo, Mujo, un ragazzino di dieci anni, perde un rigore e la palla scompare tra le lapidi del cimitero che ha sostituito il campo sportivo durante la guerra. Incitato dai compagni, Mujo passeggia nel regno dei morti in cerca del pallone.

During a training session at the Zetra Stadium in Sarajevo, ten-year-old Mujo misses a penalty kick and the ball disappears among the tombstones of the graveyard that replaced the sports ground during the war. Spurred on by his peers, Mujo wanders through the kingdom of the dead in search of the ball.

Carmine, an old Neapolitan singer, is confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life because of a stroke which distorted his face into a terrible smirk. His dream, and objective, is to return at all costs to the theatre where he was named as the next great of Neapolitan song. The greatest obstacle for him to overcome, however, will be his sister, Nina.
