As a student of the school he made two short films “Prima della fucilazione” and “Miguel”. “Ballo a tre passi” is his first long film – made thanks to the Axelotil price won at Visione italiane and produced by Gianluca Arcopinto – with which he received also the first price for best film during the Settimana della Critica and the honourable mention De Laurentis at the Venice Film Festival in 2003. For the past years he alternates his cinematography activity with that of teacher for image education. Four stories strictly tied into the Sardinian universe. Spring: four children discover the sea which they have never seen before; Summer: a young shepherd meets a girl, just landed on the beach from an aeroplane piloted by herself: he falls in love and discovers sex; Autumn: a young nun comes back to her native village to go to a cousin’s marriage and in the everyone excitement she feels a shock of melancholy; Winter: an old man crosses the city at night to find a prostitute, he takes her home but he dies before intercourse, happy to join in a dream his dearest ones. |
