The winner of the Corallino section

The proceedings of the Corallino section jury responsible for awarding the Trieste Nord Rotary Club Prize for the Best School Film Short have been concluded.

34 film shorts sent from all over Italy to the Maremetraggio Association have been viewed. At the end of the meeting the jury unanimously decided to award the prize – a digital video camera – to the students that shot the film short “UNA GIORNATA” – A DAY – of the “Eva Mameli Calvino” Vocational High School for Accountants of Cagliari for the command of cinematographic expression matched by a script, which has succeeded in blending together cultural knowledge and topical issues in an original way. Furthermore, the Provincial authorities of Trieste paid a special tribute to the following two film shorts which will also be projected and distributed in local schools by awarding them a plaque. They are:

“LE SCARPE NUOVE” – New Shoes – by the “Tommaso D'Oria” Vocational Technical High School of Ciriè (Turin) for the skill shown in summarizing visually a serious social topic with intelligence and without rhetoric while offering a faithful picture of reality.

“BULLI, BULLONI E MERLETTI” – Bullies, Bolts and Laces – by School Board no. 3 of Benevento for the quality of the direction, editing, score and originality as well as for the social importance of the topic.

The students of the winning film shot will be the guests of the Festival's final evening (July 10th) when they will be awarded and their film short will be screened.
