“La penna di Hemingway”, the only Italian work ever selected for the Osian Cinefan Film Festival in New Delhi, also chosen for the K3 International Film Festival

After an excellent reception at the 68th International Venice Film Festival and in many other Italian and European festivals, the short film by Renzo Carbonera, produced by the Maremetraggio Association and distributed by Universal Studios, has travelled all the way to India and is now returning to the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.

After its debut at the 68th International Venice Film Festival and having been selected at 10 other Italian and European Festivals, including London’s Raindance Film Festival, the most noted manifestation dedicated to Independent European Cinema, ‘La Penna di Hemmingway’  has landed in India.

The short film, directed by Renzo Carbonera with Sergio Rubini, Christiane Filangieri, Francesco Barilli and Cosimo Cinieri is in fact the only Italian work ever to have been selected to be shown at the Osian Cinefan Film Festival in New Delhi

And after it’s journey overseas it will once again return to its birthplace, the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, for the K3 International Short Film Festival, for which it was selected for the section dedicated solely to productions of the Friuli Venezia Giulia, in which more than 50 short films from the region participated.

Produced by the Maremetraggio Association in association with Sissy Entertainment and with the collaboration of  Esperimentocinema, the contribution of the Comune of Lignano, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Film Commission and of the Fund for Audivision of the Friuli Venezia Giulia, the short film, distributed in Italy from Universal Studios, is the namesake of the writer and journalist Pietro Spirito, who also collaborated on the screenplay, and was inspired by Ernest Hemmingway’s historic visit to Lignano on the 15th April 1954- the day that sealed the fate of the picturesque town of ‘golden sands’.

For those who still haven’t had the chance to watch it, ‘La Penna di Hemmingway’ will be shown on Wednesday 22nd August at 8pm at the Cinema Visionario in Udine
