Since 1990 she has worked as editing secretary and assistant director for many Italian directors among whom Antonio Captano, Carlo Cecchi, Pappi Corsicato, Daniele Lucchetti, Mario Martone, Nanni Moretti, Gabriele Salvatores and Silvio Soldini. She has directed several film shorts and participated in the Cinema Giovani Festival in Turin and the Sacher Festival. In 2001 she directed “In nome del popolo italiano”, inspired by the diary of Claudio Foschini. “Te lo leggo negli occhi” is her first full-length film. SYNOPSIS This is the story of three women, three generations who spend periods together and apart, divided between Rome and Naples. Margherita is a dynamic and unpredictable woman. She’s a singer who comes face to face with a personal and professional crisis when she has serious problems with her vocal cords. Chiara is her daughter who has abandoned her roots. She lives in Rome where she works as a speech therapist. Her relationship with her mother is mostly based on fights and distance. Lucia, Chiara’s daughter, provides a bridge between the two women. The child has a free and easy relationship with her grandmother. Through her granddaughter Margherita can be the mother that she never was with Chiara. |
