Molière is 22 in 1644. His theatre in on the brink of bankruptcy and he is put in prison because of his high debts. Once out of jail, he disappears. Jourdain, the “bourgeois gentleman”, takes him home with him, where Molière will have to pretend to be a priest in charge of Jourdain’s daughter’s education. But what Jourdain really wants from Molière is to learn to act in order to seduce a noblewoman. But Elmire, Jourdain’s wife, seems not to appreciate a stranger’s presence of in her home…
