This film was inspired by three different writers: Tahar Ben Jelloun, Amin Maalouf and Hanif Kureishi. Love, to take an important subject from troubadour literature, is nurtured by distance, projections and ideals, but far too often faced with death. Infidelity is a married man’s obsession haunted by the same nightmare: his wife cheating on him and the faint, indefinite but persistent ghosts of jealousy. Incest is a woman’s mind’s voice speaking of her past, a past growing into a more and more severe disease and splits into a two-voiced hallucination: a father’s and his daughter’s voices, shrouded in incest.
