Michele and Anita have a nice flat in a residential area in the outskirts of a big city. They are married and work as architects. They’ve been married for ten years and have no children. To celebrate their tenth anniversary, they decide to invite some friends over for dinner and, on that occasion, announce that Anita is pregnant. Unfortunately, the announcement can’t be made: without telling her husband, Anita had an abortion. A furious row breaks out between them. She says she was scared and cannot give an answer when Michele asks her what she was afraid of. The two start offending each other and Anita packs up. In the fight, Anita hits Michele with the car door and keeps hitting him even when he says he doesn’t want to see her any more. In the building opposite, a woman has just killed her husband. The police takes her away with her little baby in her arms. The next morning, Michele and Anita make breakfast together. A heavy silence accompanies them, even when they start eating.
