A Taiwanese woman’s journey to America explores her romantic fantasies and an identity entangled with beauty, sexuality, nationality and language. By exploring the protagonist’s self-contemplation and her struggles with communication, Kuángcǎo tells a story about inner reflection and the evolution of one’s identity.

Shan Wu
Shan Wu è una regista e artista multimediale taiwanese che vive negli Stati Uniti. Il suo lavoro indaga l’identità culturale e di genere. Ha vinto il Tim Disney Prize for Excellence in the Storytelling Arts, Best Experimental Film al Brussels Independent Film Festival e una medaglia di bronzo alla Taiwan National Art Exhibition. Si è laureata al California Institute of the Arts.
Shan Wu is an US-based Taiwanese filmmaker and multimedia artist. Her work investigates gender and cultural identity. She won the Tim Disney Prize for Excellence in the Storytelling Arts, Best Experimental Film at Brussels Independent Film Festival, and a Bronze Medal of Taiwan National Art Exhibition. She is a graduate from California Institute of the Arts.
