Sinossi / Synopsis

Una comunità contadina si riunisce su un altopiano al confine tra tre regioni per celebrare il funerale dell’agricoltura contadina. Un’azione cinematografica per scongiurare la scomparsa di una cultura millenaria.

A farming community gathers on the upland border between three regions to celebrate the funeral of peasant farmers. Capturing this thousand-year-old culture on film is an attempt to prevent its disappearance.

JR ha la più grande galleria d’arte del mondo: le strade. Grazie all’uso della tecnica del collage fotografico, espone gratuitamente i suoi lavori sulle pareti di tutto il mondo, attirando l’attenzione di chi di solito non frequenta i musei.

JR has the largest art gallery in the world: the streets. Thanks to his photographic collage technique, he exhibits his work free of charge on the walls of the whole world, attracting the attention of those who do not usually go to museums.

Alice Rohrwacher

Nata nel 1981 a Fiesole, in Toscana, Alice Rohrwacher ha studiato a Torino e Lisbona. Si è occupata di musica e di documentari, lavorando principalmente come montatrice e musicista per il teatro. Nel 2011 realizza Corpo celeste, il suo primo lungometraggio, con il quale si aggiudica il Nastro d’Argento come miglior regista esordiente. Il film è stato presentato in anteprima alla Quinzaine des réalisateurs del Festival di Cannes e poi selezionato ai Festival di Sundance, New York, Londra, Rio de Janeiro e Tokyo. Nel 2014 ha scritto e diretto Le meraviglie, che vince il Grand Prix Speciale al Festival di Cannes, ove torna in Concorso nel 2018 con Lazzaro felice, che ottiene il premio per la sceneggiatura. Entrambi i film hanno partecipato a numerosi altri importanti festival nel mondo. Nel 2020 ha diretto i due episodi ambientati a Ischia di L’amica geniale. Storia del nuovo cognome, la seconda stagione della serie televisiva di successo mondiale HBO-Rai Fiction tratta dalla tetralogia best seller di Elena Ferrante.

Born in 1981 in Fiesole, Tuscany, Alice Rohrwacher studied in Turin and Lisbon. She has been involved in music projects and documentaries, working mainly as an editor and musician for the theatre. In 2011, she made her first feature film Corpo celeste, for which she won the Nastro d’Argento as best new director. The film premiered at the Quinzaine des réalisateurs at the Cannes Film Festival and went on to be selected at Sundance and New York, London, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. In 2014 she wrote and directed Le meraviglie, which won the Grand Prix Speciale at the Cannes Film Festival, and she returned to the competition in 2018 with Lazzaro felice, which won the Screenplay Prize. Both films participated in several other major festivals around the world. In 2020 she directed the two episodes set in Ischia of L’amica geniale. Storia del nuovo cognome, the second season of the worldwide successful HBO-Rai Fiction television series based on the best-selling tetralogy by Elena Ferrante.
