Germany | 2013 | col. 20′

When Helga Landowsky discovers the broken jug in an antiques store near the German/Polish border, she wants to have it at any cost. But the old lady has reckoned without Jakub Lato. Because the antiquarian does’t want to trade his ware for money. In exchange for the jug, he wants Helga to tell him a story. And a story she can tell. It’s an experience from the second world war. A story about pain and loss. And while Helga is still narrating, she and Jakub begin to realize that both their lives are wondrously interwoven. And that they are now, almost 70 years later, telling the story’s last chapter together. Because only this way, the story can finally become a good story.

Sven (18) and Gijs (18) are one another’s best friends. When the two of them end up in a fight on a night out with a couple of guys in Amsterdam, Gijs gets beaten into a coma. Sven struggles with feelings of guilt and the fear of losing his best friend forever. When Gijs comes out of his coma, Sven wants nothing more than everything to be the same again as soon as possible. But Gijs has changed. ‘Even Cowboys Get To Cry’, a film about friendship, guilt and violence.

Bang! Bang! It’s hunting season. As well as Eda’s 25th birthday. As a present, her father offers her an apartment under seizure. Enjoy… Eda flees. She drives fast. Too fast. A pink dog gets caught in her headlights, causing an accident. Frightened by the strange animal, she escapes the scene. She literally takes to the woods, those primal grounds where her father is meanwhile leading the hunt. A prey among other preys, Eda will have to find the strength to finally confront her father.
