Un uomo in volontario isolamento sull’isola di Ponza, s’innamora. Ma un misterioso personaggio riemerge dal suo passato rischiando di invadere e spezzare il corso della sua nuova vita.

A man in voluntary isolation on the island of Ponza falls in love. But a mysterious character re-emerges from his past, threatening to invade and disrupt the course of his new life.

Una ripresa amatoriale su un pontile in una bella giornata d‘inverno. Un giovane uomo e suo figlio ci salutano lanciando ai pesciolini pezzetti di sandwich. Dietro a loro un uomo anziano si gode il sole. Improvvisamente il panino cade in mare, il bambino ne rimane deluso, e il vecchio in un eccesso d’apprensione dovuto alla sua vita solitaria, si precipita a recuperarlo…

Daniele Auber: nato a Trieste nel 1969. Ha studiato al D.A.M.S di Bologna ed ha frequentato un Corso di Specializzazione in effetti speciali per il cinema, la televisione e il teatro, dove ha conosciuto Sergio Stivaletti con il quale ha iniziato a collaborare. Ha lavorato, come freelance, agli effetti speciali ed il make-up tridimensionale per importanti produzioni cinematografiche e spot televisivi, tra cui quello per gli MTV European Music Awards del 1998. Ha lavorato come attore in alcuni film italiani tra i quali, Nirvana di Gabriele Salvatores (1996) ed Era meglio morire da piccoli d’Alessandra Scaramuzza (1995).
Sandwich è la sua prima regia.

An amateur film on a pier on a fine winter‘s day. A young man and his son wave to us as they toss little pieces of sandwich to the fish. Behind them there is an elderly man enjoying the sun. Suddenly the sandwich falls into the sea and the little boy is distraught. Excessively apprehensive owing to the lonely life he leads, the old man dives into the water to fish it out….

Daniele Auber: was born in Trieste in 1969. He studied at DAMS in Bologna and attended special effects courses for the cinema, television and theatre where he met Sergio Stivaletti with whom he began cooperating. He has worked as a freelance responsible for the special effects and three-dimensional make -up for important film and television productions and advertisements. He has acted in several Italian films, including Nirvana by Gabriele Salvatores (1996) ed Era meglio morire da piccoli by Alessandra Scaramuzza (1995).
Sandwich is his first film as director.

Degli amici si ritrovano ad una cena di compleanno. E’ la fine del pasto. L’ambiente è molto animato: si canta, si beve, ci s’intrattiene, si scherza…
E’ allora che viene posto un indovinello.
Diventa fuori questione lasciare la tavola senza avere la spiegazione dell’indovinello. La serata cambia tono.

Ursula Meier: è nata a Besançon nel 1971. Diplomata all’Instiut des Ats de Diffusionin Belgio.

A group of friends get together for a birthday dinner. It’s end of the meal and there’s a lively atmosphere: people are singing, drinking, hugging each other, telling jokes. Then someone asks a riddle: “In the Amazon three ants are walking on a tree stump…”. The soon changes its tune…
