The New York workers portrayed in Meyer’s famous 1932 photograph are tired of being considered icons, “frozen” in the image by the photographer’s shot. They express their discontent to various people they meet during a typical day and decide to organise a prank against the photographer himself, in order to ruin his famous image, “suspended” in time.

Gli operai newyorchesi ritratti nella famosa fotografia di Meyer del 1932 sono stanchi di essere considerati delle icone, “bloccate” nell’immagine dallo scatto del fotografo. Esprimeranno il loro malumore a diversi personaggi che incontreranno nel corso di una loro giornata-tipo e decideranno a questo punto di organizzare uno scherzo ai danni del fotografo stesso, così da rovinare la sua celeberrima immagine, “sospesa” nel tempo. Dario Casetti: born in 1969 in Vercelli, lives in Biella and graduated in 1994 in Turin in History and Criticism of Cinema, with a thesis on Stanley Kubrick. Since 1997 he has been teaching the same subject at the Università Popolare Subalpina in Biella. |
