Giovanni lost his daughter. Disappointed, hardened and wrapped up in his grief, he goes back to the places of his childhood in which he experienced his father’s death. Among the olive trees, he’s inspired by the encounter with a young boy. He recalls the shouts and the lamentations of the ritual weeping in the house of a farmer who passed away the same day; the ancient ceremony of the hugging of the friendly tree while some men were shaking it and reassuring it so that he wouldn’t lose his leaves owing to his pain; the dramatic narration of a fairy tale about death addressed to attentive and speechless children. Something’s moving in his heart; he tells her lost daughter, who came back as a child in his dream, the legendary tale of the Genesis; he decides to embrace the friendly tree and whisper him his dramatic and, until that time, unspeakable secret.[:]
