In una notte del 1973, Yuri attende alla stazione di Ascoli Piceno il treno che lo porterà a lavorare e vivere altrove. Nell’attesa, riepiloga gli anni dell’infanzia e adolescenza, trascorsi con la madre sempre affettuosa e loquace, con il fratello maggiore Marco e con la sorellina Claudia, cui Yuri è molto legato. Tornano alla memoria mille piccoli avvenimenti e i volti degli amici e compagni di scuola, mentre nell’animo del partente risuonano echi, che ora gli sembrano lieti e dolci per la più grande parte: la propria passione per i fumetti (soprattutto per l’eroe chiamato “il grande Blek”), le corse in lambretta con Marco, quello stranissimo amico Razzo, il suo compagno Antonio, segretamente innamorato di Claudia, e poi qualche festa nella tranquilla vita di provincia. Mentre il treno è in arrivo restano a Yuri i ricordi, molte speranze deluse e brandelli di sogni, davanti ad un avvenire incerto e confuso.

One night in 1973, at the station in Ascoli Piceno, Yuri is waiting for a train which will take him somewhere else to live and work. While he’s waiting, he remembers his childhood and teenager years he spent with his loving and talkative mother, his older brother Marco and his little sister Claudia, who has always been very close to him. Many small events come to his mind, as well as the faces of his friends and schoolmates, and all the while, as he’s about to leave, his soul recalls charming and happy memories: his passion for the comics (especially for a hero called “the big Blek”); his races on a lambretta scooter with Marco; his bizarre friend Razzo; Antonio, a schoolmate secretly in love with Claudia, and a few parties livening his quiet provincial life. When the train arrives, Yuri is left with his memories, many unfulfilled hopes and shredded dreams, before an uncertain and misty future.
