Sinossi / Synopsis
Hollyn e Colie trascorrono un’ultima, lunga estate portando a pascolare il bestiame nel remoto Idaho. Totalmente fuori dal mondo e sole con loro stesse, affrontano condizioni meteorologiche estreme e situazioni pericolose, mentre riflettono sul loro futuro. Ritratto di un’amicizia e del lavoro di due abili giovani donne nel bellissimo e sperduto paesaggio del West americano, Bitterbrush è l’intima rappresentazione di uno stile di vita raramente visto nei film.
Hollyn and Colie spend a last, long summer herding cattle in remote Idaho. Totally off grid, and alone with each other, they brave inclement weather and perilous work conditions as they ponder their futures. A portrait of friendship and the work of two skilled young women in the isolated and beautiful landscape of the American West, Bitterbrush is an intimate portrayal of a way of life rarely seen on film.

Emelie Mahdavian
Emelie Mahdavian è una regista che ha vinto i Premi Emmy, Peabody eal Sundance. Ha prodotto, scritto e montato Midnight Traveler, che ha ricevuto numerosi riconoscimenti internazionali ed è stato nominato per il Gotham Award al Miglior Documentario. Precedentemente ha diretto film di danza che sono stati proiettati al Dance on Camera al Lincoln Center e in altri musei e festival internazionali. Al momento sta sviluppando un lungometraggio con l’Alonzo King Lines Ballet e ne sta scrivendo un altro ambientato nel West americano.
Emelie Mahdavian is an Emmy, Peabody, and Sundance award-winning filmmaker. She produced, wrote, and edited Midnight Traveler, which won numerous international prizes and was nominated for a Gotham Award for Best Documentary. Previously, she created dance films which screened at Dance on Camera at Lincoln Center and other international museums and festivals. She is currently developing a feature with Alonzo King Lines Ballet and writing a narrative feature set in the American West.
