Nel corso di un interrogatorio, condotto nel corso di una notte da un magistrato alle prime armi affiancato da un commissario di grande esperienza, la posizione di un giovane sospettato dell’omicidio di una donna, si aggrava sempre di più col passare delle ore.

Emiliano Corapi: nasce a Roma nel 1970 ed ha cominciato l’attività cinematografica scrivendo e realizzando diversi cortometraggi. Ha inoltre realizzato alcuni documentari e spot pubblicitari. Nel 1999 ha vinto il Premio Moravia con la sceneggiatura di La storia chiusa, riconosciuto dal Ministero dei Beni Culturali come opera di interesse culturale nazionale.

Emiliano Corapi (Rome, 1970) began his film activity writing and shooting various short films. He has made several documentaries and commercials. In 1999 he won the Moravia Prize for screenplay The case is closed,which was cited by the Minister of Cultural Resources as being of being of national cultural interest.

“Clown” è un’animazione fantastica basata sullo spettacolo Snow Show del mimo-clown Slava Polunin. Racconta della solitudine dell’uomo, della tristezza, dell’amore e della morte, dei sogni, della resistenza al flusso accecante dell’esistenza, e del fatto che la vita sta scorrendo via.

Irina Efteeva: si è diplomata nel 1980 all’ Istituto Statale per il Cinema di Leningrado. Nel 1989 ha concluso un master all’Istituto Statale per il Teatro, Musica e Cinema di Leningrado. Collabora con l’Istituto russo di storia dell’arte; inoltre è insegnante di cinema e arti fotografiche all’Università Statale per il Cinema di San Pietroburgo e regista presso gli studi Lenfilm.

Irina Irina Efteeva (St. Petersburg) graduated in 1980 from the film department of Leningrad State Institute of Cinema. In 1989 she completed a post-graduate course at Leningrad State Institutee of Theatre, Music and Cinema. She has collaborated with the Russian institute of history of the art and is also a teacher of cinema and photographic arts to the government university of the cinema of St. Petersburg and director of studies for Lenfilm.

In 1959, after an extremely difficult life, the great Russian theorist of Formalism, Boris Mihajlovich Ejchenbaum, died in Moscow. In 2002, the life of a young Sicilian director, who has always been obsessed with the figure of the great Russian theorist, is shaken up by a phone call.

Nel 1959, dopo una vita di stenti, moriva a Mosca il grande teorico formalista russo Boris Mihajlovich Ejchenbaum. Nel 2002, la vita di un giovane regista siciliano, da sempre ossessionato dalla figura del grande teorico russo, viene sconvolta da una telefonata.

Marco Alessi: nato a Palermo nel 1973, si è laureato in Storia del cinema al DAMS. Ha partecipato ai corsi di regia tenuti da Kiarostami ed è stato assistente di Roberta Torre per Tano da Morire. Regista di cortometraggi, spot, documentari e videoclip, è anche sceneggiatore per il cinema e la televisione.

A woman goes to bed, falls asleep, and begins to dream. This dream takes her to a landscape of light and shadow, evoked in a form only possible through classical cinematography.

Peter Tscherkssky: è nato a Vienna nel 1958. Dal 1979 al 1984 ha vissuto a Berlino. Ha studiato filosofia laureandosi con la tesi: “Film come Arte. Verso una Critica Estetica della Cinematografia” (1985/86). Insegna creazione cinematografica all’Accademia di Arti Applicate a Linz e Vienna. E’ membro fondatore della Sixpack Film. Dal 1984 ha tenuto numerose conferenze sulla storia e teoria dei film d’avanguardia. Nel 1993 e nel 1994 è stato direttore artistico del festival annuale del cinema austriaco “Diagonale”. Ha scritto il libro “Peter Kubelka” (1995). Gira film dal 1979.

Peter Tscherkssky was born in 1958 in Vienna, Austria. He lived in Berlin in 1979-84 and studied philosophy. Doctoral thesis: “Film as Art. Towards a Critical Aesthetics of Cinematografhy” (1985/86). He teaches film-making at the Acedmies of Applied Arts in Linz and Vienna, and is a founding member of Sixpack Film. He organized several international avant-garde film festivals in Vienna and film tours abroad. Since 1984 he has produced numerous publications and lectures on the history and theory of avant-garde film. 1993 and 1994 he was the artistic director of the annual Austrian film festival “Diagonale”. He was the editor of the book “Peter Kubelka” (1995), and has been making films since 1979.

 

Non dire gatto

Two old men, in two different worlds, are united only by a garden and their loneliness. One is an ex-boxer who takes in a dog left to him by a friend in jail. The other is a recently widowed pensioner, who has decided to adopt a kitten.

DAVID DI DONATELLO

Due uomini anziani, due mondi diversi, condividono un giardino e la solitudine.
Uno è un ex pugile che ospita in casa un cane lasciatogli da un amico ormai in galera. L’altro è un pensionato che ha perso la moglie da poco e ha deciso di adottare un gattino. Un giorno il cane si presenta al padrone con il gattino morto in bocca, tutto sporco di terra. L’ex pugile, per non dare un dispiacere al pensionato, cerca un sosia del gatto tra le rovine romane, e trovatolo, di nascosto lo sostituisce. Ma al pensionato, che aveva seppellito l’animale deceduto prematuramente quella stessa mattina, la vista del gattino “resuscitato” sarà fatale, provocandogli un infarto.
Liberamente tratto da una leggenda metropolitana.

Giorgio Tirabassi: Attore poliedrico, ha lavorato per il teatro con Gigi Proietti Come mi piace (1982), e Ugo Gregoretti Caro Petrolini (1983). Ha lavorato per la televisione ed è stato tra i protagonisti di diversi serial di successo, ed interprete di numerosi film. Non dire Gatto è il suo primo cortometraggio da regista.

One is an ex-boxer who takes in a dog left to him by a friend in jail. The other is a recently widowed pensioner, who has decided to adopt a kitten. One day the dog shows up with a dead kitten in its mouth, all covered with mud. So as not hurt the pensioner’s feelings, the ex boxer looks for a twin-kitten among the roman ruins, and when he finds one, he replaces the dead one with it. But for the pensioner, who had just buried his kitten that had died prematurely that very morning, the sight of the replaced kitten made him have a heart attack and he died. Freely adapted from an urban legend.

Giorgio Tirabassi: Giorgio Tirabassi: poliedric actor, he has been working in theatre with Gigi Proietti “Come mi piace“ (1982), and also with Ugo Gregoretti “Caro Petrolini” (1983). For TV he acted as a protagonist in several series and movies. “Non dire gatto” is his first short film as director.

E’ la storia triste di un ragazzino di tredici anni: il padre lo picchia mentre la madre assiste impassibile. Come se non bastasse, a scuola viene preso di mira da alcuni insegnanti. Ha un solo amico: il suo vecchio cane, che è stato portato in un canile e al quale porta ogni giorno da mangiare.

Slawomir Fabicki: è nato a Varsavia nel 1970. Ha completato nel 1995 un corso di regia e sceneggiatura presso la Scuola di Cinema di Lodz e ha debuttato l’anno successivo con il suo saggio scolastico, Onwards. Successivamente ha diretto Wewnetrzny (1997), Kaska, bimber i motocykl (1999), Po drugiej stranie lasu (1999) e Bratobojstwo (1999).

ENGLISH VERSIONA thirteen-year-hold boy is having a very hard time: his father beats him, while his mother stands by, and what’s more he is even picked on by some teachers at school. He has only one friend: his old dog, which has been taken to a kennel, where the boy goes every day to bring him some food.

Slawomir Fabicki was born in 1970 in Warsaw and studied directing at the Lodz Film School. His other films: Extension 55 (1997), Kathy, Moonshine & Motorcycle (1999), The Oder Side of the Forest (1999), Fratricide (1999).

Elena Hazanov: è nata nel 1977 a Mosca. Ha seguito corsi di cinema a Portland e a Rockport in USA; inoltre ha frequentato degli stage di regia a Parigi e Ginevra. E’ assistente di ripresa di lungometraggio e cortometraggio.

Stefano Soli: nato a Roma nel 1965, ha un’esperienza decennale nel campo della cinematografia come assistente alla regia, agente cinematografico e dialogista. Autore e regista di due documentari, “Furti” è il suo primo cortometraggio come sceneggiatore e regista.

Gli operai newyorchesi ritratti nella famosa fotografia di Meyer del 1932 sono stanchi di essere considerati delle icone, “bloccate” nell’immagine dallo scatto del fotografo. Esprimeranno il loro malumore a diversi personaggi che incontreranno nel corso di una loro giornata-tipo e decideranno a questo punto di organizzare uno scherzo ai danni del fotografo stesso, così da rovinare la sua celeberrima immagine, “sospesa” nel tempo.

Dario Casetti: nato nel 1969 a Vercelli, vive a Biella e nel 1994 si è laureato a Torino in Storia e Critica del Cinema,
discutendo una tesi su Stanley Kubrick. Dal 1997 è docente di questa stessa materia presso l’Università Popolare Subalpina di Biella.
