Il Kazakistan oggi vive l’euforia dello sviluppo che l’Italia non ricorda nemmeno più. Eppure la sua crescita e` legata a doppio filo con l’economia italiana. Le immagini delle grandi steppe euroasiatiche, degli spazi infiniti e ordinati delle terre post-sovietiche si intrecciano nel film e nella mente dell’autore con le immagini dell’Italia anni ‘60, trovate sia negli archivi ENI che in quelli personali girati dalla madre e dal padre di Andrea Segre, che negli anni ’60, ventenni, hanno vissuto l’euforia della crescita.

Nowadays Kazakhstan is experiencing the same euphoria as that of 60s and 70s booming Italy, a permeating feeling that Italy does not even remember today. The images of the extended Eurasian Steppe and those of the endless, ordered spaces of post-Soviet lands interlace the images of 60s Italy, extracted both from ENI’s archives and from private film clips shot by Andrea Segre’s twenty-year-old mother and father, who actually experienced the euphoria generated by the progress in Italy during the 60s.
