FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA REGION IN BULGARIA WITH ITS CINEMA AND TIPICAL PRODUCTS

Thanks to the collaboration between Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and Maremetraggio Association, Sofia (Bulgaria) will be the site of a two days of Italian cinema and tasting of tipical products of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

From the 11th to the 12th of march Sofia, inside the prestigious frame of Sofia International Film Festival, will host a special event dedicated to Italian cinema, with screenings, meetings with actors and directors, as well as conferences and tastings to make Bulgaria’s public know the beauty of territory and arts of Friuli Venezia Giulia area.

A successfull movies shot in Friuli Venezia Giulia, “La Ragazza del Lago”, by Andrea Molaioli (shot in Carnia area) will be screened to show through cinema the territorial variety of the Region. In the same time, Bulgarian public will have the chance to see five Italian short films, that will allow the audience to have a complete vision of what Italian cinema is nowadays. The shorts will be selected from the 10th edition of Maremetraggio festival and from the upcoming 11th edition, as a preview of what the 11th International Short Films and Debut Works Festival will be. All movies will be screened in original language with English subtitles.

Together with the movies, some of the protagonists of these films will also arrive in Sofia, actors and directors that will explain to Bulgarian public the birth and reasons of their works.

The program schedules is the following:

11th march:
In the evening: screening of “La ragazza del lago” by Andrea Molaioli, followed by the screening of five italian shorts films

12th march:
In the morning: round table with the directors of Italian movies that will be screened in Sofia. Soon after there will be the press conference of presentation of Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, followed by the tasting of tipical products of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The Region Friuli Venezia Giulia promoted this initiative, in collaboration with Maremetraggio festival, to present itself to Bulgarian public. Moreover, through the press conference of presentation, that will be hold by Roberto Molinaro, councillor of Culture for the Region, there will be the occasion to strengthen the relationship between Friuli Venezia Giulia authorities and Bulgaria Department for Culture, Sports and Media.

Thanks to the collaboration between Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and Maremetraggio Association, Podgorica (Montenegro) will be the site of a three days of Italian cinema and tasting of tipical products of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

From the 8th to the 10th of november Podgorica will host Italian cinema and meetings with actors and directors, as well as conferences and tastings to make Montenegro’s public know the beauty of the territory and the arts of Friuli Venezia Giulia area.

Successfull movies shooted in Friuli Venezia Giulia, as “La Ragazza del Lago”, by Andrea Molaioli (shooted in Carnia area) and “Amore, bugie e calcetto” by Luca Lucini (entirely shooted in Trieste) will be screen to show through cinema the territorial variety of  the Region.

In the same time, the public will be able to see some of the best Italian movies recently shooted, as “Tris di donne e abiti nuziali”, by Vincenzo Terracciano, a work that comes directly from the 66th Venice Film Festival.

Moreover, Podgorica will host also some Italian short films screenings, to give the public a complete vision of what Italian cinema is nowadays.

Together with the movies, in Podgorica will arrive some of the protagonista of these films, actors and directors that will explain to the Montenegro’s public the birth and reasons of their works.

The program schedules is the following:

8th november:

7.15 p.m. Screening of two Italian movies

9th november:

3.30 p.m. 1 hour screening of  Italian short films

5.00 p.m. press conference with the protagonists of Italian movies that will be screen in Podgorica.

Soon after there will be the press conference of presentation of Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, followed by the tasting of tipical products of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

7.15 p.m. Screening of two movies, presented by their protagonists.

9th november:

In the morning there will be the meeting with a Montenegro’s documentary maker and the Italian documentarist Franco Brogi Taviani, followed by the screening of their two last works and of the last Italian movie in program.

The Region Friuli Venezia Giulia promoted this initiative, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Podgorica, to present the Region to Montenegro public. Moreover, through the press conference of presentation, that will be hold  by Roberto Molinaro, councillor of Culture for the Region, there will be presented the cultural and economic initiatives that Friuli Venezia Giulia is realizing in Montenegro.

Minimal story, new invasions. Memory is the result of the passage of a collectivity, the mark that a group of people was able to leave in the place it occupied. A collectivity, though, is made of single lives, lives with their unique and diverse paths, not linked closely to a same place or past but rather transverse to it, almost tangent. So what is memory and how can it become collective? Probably in the overlapping between the moment when the memories of individuals are recorded in a shared substratum and when private experience provides the subsoil for collective memory. At times I stick my foot into this furrow and follow it for a while. It reminds me of the furrows left by the ploughs before sowing. If the winter is not too harsh, something will grow.

And then there are those super-critics, that is to say those readers who delve into a film to find the weak link in the chain, the scene to be most tampered with, the moment farthest from the author's magical creation to rant against the director.
