From the collaboration between Maremetraggio, International Short Film and Debut Works Festival and Barcolana a new idea was born: a really sinergic competition, that  combines the love for cinema to the love for travelling the sea. The challenge issued  from the city of Bora, Trieste, to all sportspeople, professional and amateur film makers, in Barcolana’s days, is called “SopraSottoVento” (OverUndertheWind).

Make a short film, with every means at your disposal, videophones included, that describes the sail world and the spirit of travelling the sea, or that is dedicated to a sport that uses the clean energy of the wind as motive power.

It can be a documentary, or fiction, or animation. It can’t be longer than 15 minutes and it must arrive in the offices of Maremetraggio Festival by the 18th May 2012, together with the entry form properly filled.

You can win one of the two Barcolana Awards, one for the amateur category and one for the professionals, that will make you live in person the 44^ edition of the Barcolana.

Moreover the finalist shorts of the competition will be screened inside the Arena Barcolana as a special event during the 44° edition of the boat race.
